Nikon Metrology and Verisurf Software said they have made it possible for manufacturers to drive all Nikon portable metrology devices from Verisurf’s common software platform.

Supported Nikon metrology devices include Laser Radar, K-Series optical CMMs configured with scanners and probes, MCA II articulated arm configured with scanners and probes, and the iGPS.

“Verisurf is proud to partner with Nikon and offer engineers a major breakthrough in measurement and inspection,” said Ernie Husted, president of Verisurf. “Having advanced inspection software that drives all of their metrology devices will dramatically increase their customer’s manufacturing efficiency by saving countless hours learning and using multiple software interfaces, while significantly reducing software maintenance and technical support costs across their enterprise.”

“This partnership is a huge benefit to our metrology customers,” said Doug Kappler, Director of Nikon Metrology Large Scale Division. “In addition to being able to offer a single software platform for all Nikon portable metrology devices, the software provides fully automated and programmable measurements.”

Under the terms of the global OEM agreement Nikon will sell, market, train and support Verisurf software when bundled with Nikon Metrology devices.

Ken Dubrowski, a New Jersey native, has called Marshfield home for 15 years. He is a nationally known illustrator who designs and builds custom furniture, such as cabinets, chests, hutches and other functional pieces. He’ll even create a portrait of your home.

South Street Gallery in Hingham will exhibit Dubrowski’s work through July 3.

What is your training in the arts?

I went to art school for printmaking, but I’ve been drawing, painting and building since I was a kid. I began building furniture when I was first married because my wife and I needed furniture. “How hard could it be?” became a motto around our house, so I first built an armoire, then a bed and dresser, then night tables. I even built the studio. I had someone do the framing, then my wife and I did all the interior work as we could afford it. It took six years.

How did you establish your studio in Marshfield?

It evolved from a single artisan’s studio to more of a Renaissance approach

And it just may be appreciated and reciprocated. But even if its not, it will make you a better person and improve your relationship when you release your spouse from trying to fix him or change him.
